Below, photos I took today of my bird ring in white and yellow gold: it has been made from the shape of a cheap ring I really liked and that got all ruined. My parents found a jeweller that could redo the same ring in gold.. If you wonder why they cared this much to do so, it’s because they call me “little bird”.

Sotto, un po’ di foto che ho fatto oggi al mio anello con un uccellino in oro bianco e giallo: e’ stato ricavato dalla forma di un anellino di scarso valore che mi piaceva molto e che col tempo si era tutto arrugginito. I miei genitori hanno trovato un gioielliere che rifacesse lo stesso anello in oro.. In caso vi chiediate come mai si sono presi cosi’ a cuore questa storia, e’ perche’ mi chiamano “uccellino”.

..I know! Some of you love it, some others just hate it.. What shall you do on Valentine’s day? Some love to get furtively in their lover’s flat, and stuff their bedroom with rose petals-soft animals-chocolate-lingerie, some others don’t like at all this kind of stuff and these days avoid everything that has vaguely the shape of a flower, the red colour or the smell of chocolate.. Some others take it really seriously, and buy their girlfriend/boyfriend a trip somewhere very expensive (where supposivley their love will grow even more through pamperings and pina coladas), some others when reminded of the day just answer “What??” with a you-are-absolutely-out-of-topic look.. And so, you know what? To make all of you happy I’ll just post an incredible amount of things that you could buy for you or someone else, that could be appreciated on Valentine’s day, but also on any other day of the year. That you would use in a love day, but also not (come on, we wear lingerie every day of the year [you do, right?], and we eat chocolate more often when feeling down than in a Jacuzzi surrounded of palms and birds singing [ok, I'm exagerating]).. So, everyone alright with this? Hope so. Because I looked for these things for you with all my love, and it’s all that matters.

.. Lo so! Alcuni di voi lo amano, altri lo odiano.. Che si deve fare a San Valentino? Alcuni amano entrare furtivamente nell’appartamento dell’amata/o e riempirgli la stanza di petali di rose- peluche – cioccolato – lingerie, altri non amano per niente questo tipo di manifestazioni e durante questi giorni non fanno altro che evitare tutto cio’ che ha la forma vagamente simile a quella di un fiore, il colore rosso e il profumo del cioccolato.. Alcuni altri la prendono davvero seriamente, e comprano al/la loro ragazzo/a un viaggio molto costoso in qualche posto esotico (dove in teoria il loro amore crescera’ ancora di piu’ tra i trattamenti della spa e i pina colada..).. Alcuni altri quando gli si ricorda che giorno e’ rispondono solo “Cosa?!?” con quella faccia da “..Che-accidenti-stai-dicendo?!”.. E quindi sapete cosa? Per farvi tutti felici pubblichero’ semplicemente un incredibile quantita’ di cose che potreste comprare per voi o qualcun altro, che potrebbero essere apprezzate a San Valentino o in qualsiasi altro giorno dell’anno. Che potreste usare in un giorno dedicato all’amore, ma anche no (voglio dire, la biancheria intima ce la mettiamo tutti i giorni dell’anno, giusto? [lo fate, vero?], e mangiamo cioccolato piu’ spesso quando siamo tristi che di quando ci troviamo in una Jacuzzi circondata da palme e uccellini che cantano [ok, sto esagerando].. Dunque, vi ho messo tutti d’accordo ora? Spero di si’. Anche perche’ ho cercato tutte queste cose per voi con tutto il mio amore, che alla fine e’ quello che davvero conta.

..I know! The week before Christmas can be quite hectic. You thought you found the right party dress and all, but then your younger sister asks for Jonas Brothers (that you can’t do), you remember you have 5/6 relatives you forgot about you need to buy presents for, your friends start to dress their innocent cats like Santa’s little helpers, in the shops they don’t have gift ideas anymore, you find out it might also be the case to buy a little something for yourself, some ex you wouldn’t want to exist calls you and tell you He loves you deerly, and yeah, the fox could be the murderer. Unbelievable, they still don’t have gift ideas either in this shop, after you walked one hour till your heels are cracking up in two (and your ankles too)  and you’d just like to have a cupcake now (but no, you can’t, you need to lose weight and you already know you’ll put up another half of yourself during Christmas parties..)..How come they don’t have gift ideas even in here?! Keep calm and carry on. Calm, and carry on… It’s -almost- Christmas…

..Lo so, lo so! La settimana prima di Natale puo’ diventare piuttosto folle. Credevi di aver trovato il vestito per i party, e tutto il resto, ma poi tua sorella minore ti chiede i Jonas Brother (che non puoi prenderle), ti ricordi che hai 5/6 parenti di cui ti eri dimenticato a cui devi fare dei regali, i tuoi amici cominciano a vestire i loro gatti innocenti come piccoli aiutanti di Babbo Natale, nei negozi non hanno piu’ idee regalo, ti rendi conto nel frattempo che magari sarebbe anche il caso di comprare una cosina per te stessa, qualche ex di cui non vuoi piu’ immaginare nemmeno l’esistenza ti chiama e ti dice che ti ama, e si’, in tutto cio’ la volpe potrebbe essere il colpevole. Incredibile, non hanno idee regalo nemmeno in questo negozio, dopo che hai camminato un’ora fino a quando i tacchi (e le caviglie, pure), ti si stanno spezzando in due, e tu vorresti solo mangiarti un cupcake ora (ma non puoi, perche’ sei gia’ a dieta e sai gia’ che a Natale metterai su due volte te stessa..)..Com’e’ che nemmeno qui hanno idee regalo?! Calma, e vai avanti. Stai calma, e vai avanti.. E’ -quasi- Natale…
